And today he took a bronze medal in the men’s elite time trial at the European Road Championships, finishing on the podium behind Belgium’s Victor Campenaerts and Maciej Bodnar of Poland.

The medal is the 22-year old’s third in international competition having claimed silver in the time trial at the European Junior Road Championships in 2012 and silver in the same event at the World U23 Championships two years later.
